Moving In

Welcome to your Tuntum home!

When you’ve accepted your offer of accommodation, we’ll contact you as soon as your new home is ready for you to move into, and here’s what you can expect.

We’ll meet you at your new home

We’ll arrange a time to meet you at your new home and you’ll be able to pick up the keys then, too. It’s also a great opportunity for you to have another look around.

We’ll also ask you to bring your first week’s rent, and you can pay us either by cash, cheque or debit card.

We’ll help you sign your tenancy agreement

Your tenancy agreement is a legal contract which tells you your rights and responsibilities as our tenant. You will normally start off with a Starter Tenancy. You can find more information about different types of tenancies here.

Before you sign on the dotted line, we’ll go through your new tenancy agreement with you. It’s important to us that you know what to expect from us as a landlord – and what we expect from you as a tenant. This is also when you’ll decide on the most convenient way to pay your rent; this could be weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Lots of our residents claim housing benefit, and we can help you set up your claim too.

Lettable Standards

When a property becomes empty, we will inspect it and carry out any necessary repairs, so that when the new tenant moves in, the property is in an appropriate condition – this is known as a Lettable Standard.

Pets

If you’d like to share your home with a pet, you’ll need to ask us for permission first.

If you have shared access to your home, or live in a communal building, you won’t normally be given permission, so check with us first.

Please complete and return the Pet Registration Form and we will notify you if your request has been approved.
