Get Ready for Tuntum in Bloom 2010

This year Tuntum’s Tenants’ and Leaseholders’ Association (TTLA) has ring fenced £2,000 for the Tuntum in Bloom project with the aim of having three community planting days with a focus on four Tuntum specific projects. Tuntum will also be leading on a partnership ‘In Bloom’ project with the Moorgreen Tenant and Residents Association alongside Nottingham Community Housing Association, Spirita and Places for People.

This year the Neighbourhood Awards have been rebranded as the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ campaign and will still form part of the wider Britain in Bloom initiative. They are not competitive but benchmarking levels are used to recognise and applaud the achievements as well as to provide participants with some feedback and guidance for the future. Assessors will be there as mentors and friends – not as judges – and we will take advantage of their visit to get constructive feedback.

This year we are incorporating a food strategy to encourage all those involved to eat healthily. We will do this by planting strawberry, tumbling tomatoes and herbs in the hanging baskets (alongside traditional plants) and having a dedicated salad, vegetable and herb growing area in the communal areas.
