Creating a Better Future for Refugees |
|

Tuntum has been successful in its bid to become the leading provider of floating support services to refugees living in Nottingham along with two specialist agencies, the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum and Co-operative Community Action. The contract, worth £434,000 per year for the next three years, will provide a team of 12 staff, who will deliver over 440 hours of support to refugees each week.
The partnership is called Refugee Futures, a title chosen in liaison with refugees themselves. Refugee Futures are now entering into detailed discussions with the City Council to establish the project. When it's up and running in 2008 Refugee Futures will provide services to around 50 clients each week.
Delivered through Project Workers, the Service will offer practical help and guidance on issues including housing, healthcare, referral to immigration and employment rights advice, together with welfare information and counselling services where appropriate.
