Temporary accommodation - Karibu
Old Vicarage
The Old Vicarage provides accommodation for young teenage mothers or expectant mothers primarily, but not exclusively from black and ethic minority communities.

The project works with teenage mothers providing a service which is fully inclusive of the fathers in accordance with the wihes of the service user.
The Old Vicarage provides a service to young mothers and young women who are pregnant (aged 16–25), homeless or threatened with homelessness. Women are offered temporary accommodation with support for up to 12 months in self-contained flats.

As well as providing a warm and comfortable flat for up to one year, our aim is to teach them how to be good mothers and to encourage them to continue their education and prepare for work. Fathers are actively encouraged to participate in the raising of their children.

The project won the prestigious BMEspark award in 2006 for "service providers of care with support and those supporting independent living for vulnerable people from black and minority ethnic communities". Click here for more details.
