How do I pay my rent?
There are several ways of making payment towards your rent - with your rent payment swipe card, by direct debit or standing order, or over the internet.
Tuntum has recently introduced payment cards, so that tenants can pay their rent whenever is most convenient for them.

With the introduction of the payment cards, cash payments are no longer accepted at either of our offices. You can, however, continue to make cash payments at your bank and pay by standing order (see below).

If you have any questions or concerns about how this service will operate, or if you are worried about how it will affect you, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll also send you a copy of our ‘How to pay your rent’ leaflet, if you would like one.

Under the new system, each tenant will be issued with a swipe card containing a unique identification number. The card itself has no value – no one else can use it to make payments for any other reason. This card should be used to support any rent payments made to us as it automatically identifies the rent account to which it relates. If for any reason you have not received your swipe card or if it is lost, please contact us and we will ensure that a replacement card is dispatched as soon as possible.

Your swipe card gives you the freedom to pay your rent at a wide range of local retail outlets or using a variety of other methods – which means you won’t even have to leave the comfort of home.

You can use your swipe card to make payments at any outlet displaying one of the following signs. Simply take your swipe card to the counter, together with your payment. You will be given a printed receipt as proof of payment, which we recommend you keep in a safe place.

Post Office
Pay at any Post Office with cash, cheques or debit cards.
PayPoint

payzone

allpay
Pay your rent over the internet. Making sure you have your swipe card handy, together with your debit or credit card, simply log onto www.allpay.net and click where you see “Make a Payment”. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this service accepts payment from most major debit and credit cards including Maestro, Mastercard and Visa. (This service requires you to briefly register online before making your first payment.)
 phone
Pay your rent by telephone. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Making sure you have your swipe card handy, together with your debit or credit card, just dial 0870 243 6040 and follow the simple instructions. Each time you use this service to pay your rent, you will be given an authorisation code as proof of payment, which we recommend you take a note of.
direct debit
By far the easiest and most convenient way of paying your rent is by Direct Debit. This offers a hassle-free solution to those who worry about paying their bills on time. You will need to have a current bank or building society account before you can set up this facility.

You can still pay your rent using your rent payment book or by standing order:

With your rent payment book
This is accepted at all post offices. Please ensure that each page has your correct reference number printed on it. If this is missing, please write your name and address onto the payment slip in the spaces provided. Payments can be made by cash or cheque. Below is an example of a completed payment slip:

By standing order
You can request a standing order form by contacting our office on 0115 916 6066, which you will need to fill in and return to your bank to process. Contact your housing officer for full details.
