Lyn Gilzean Court, (Acacia Court) consists of 32 self-contained flats built to mobility standards, located in St Anns, Nottingham. Each flat has its own front door, a bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. All the flats are linked to an intercom alarm system and have communal facilities that include a large lounge, large kitchen, a guest room, laundry room and large garden.

 

The scheme is aimed at those who are no longer able to live completely independently, but who do not need or wish to enter a residential care home or nursing home for the elderly. The scheme is also there for those who have accommodation or personal care needs that can be met within their home; those who have personal care and support needs but who are able, with help, to continue to live independently; and those who need care and support delivered in a way that is sensitive to their cultural heritage.

 

The scheme is aimed at, but by no means exclusively for, elderly from the African-Caribbean community.
